Yellow "Scam Alert Ahead" sign against a blue sky with clouds.

Scammers are constantly evolving, and it’s natural to feel uneasy about their ever-changing tactics. The good news: staying one step ahead is possible. The more you recognize their tricks, the easier it is to avoid them. Here’s what to watch for and how to stay informed:

Voice Impersonation

Scammers use AI to mimic the voices of friends or family. Always verify unexpected calls before sharing information or sending money.

Fake Messages

Realistic-looking emails and texts can trick people into clicking links or giving away personal details. Never click on suspicious links. ALWAYS go directly to the official website.

Government Scams

Be cautious of calls or notices claiming to be from the IRS or offering “special” government programs that demand urgent payment. Verify through official government websites before acting.

Tech Support Scams

Pop-ups or calls claiming a computer or phone is infected are often attempts to install malware. Close suspicious pop-ups and contact a trusted tech professional instead.

Staying informed is your best defense against scams. Keep an eye out, trust your instincts, and don’t hesitate to reach out if something feels off.
